FINDLY AND KROHN

Findlay parade April 5th: For the first time we are marching behind the Indian flag in the city and a large number of participants would be wonderful. Please let all your friends know about this event. We are number 79 in the parade and will meet at Race and McMicken St.That is the drop off point.  The distance of the walk  is about a mile and a half. There is no formal parking. The small amount around the market are taken up quickly by the early arrivals. We will be marching with 8 other sister cities.  We were asked to wear national dress and or the color red and march behind the India Flag. Yes, we could have dancers too. The flag of Mysore will also be present. Srini Mirle is helping organize this event and is reaching out to the community.

The city needs Artifacts: Indian and Mysore artifacts needed at the Krohn during the world butterfly show immediately. We are going to be showing these artifacts in the locked cases in the Bonsai Gallery, so shelf sized items are best. Fabric can also be shown to a good advantage. A shelf space is roughly 30" wide, 8" deep, 10" tall - but we can move shelves up and down so the height is flexible.

EKAL VIDYALAYA FOUNDATION OF USA – EKAL FUNDRAISING CONCERT 2012

The Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation of USA (Ekal) is a tax exempt, registered, non-profit organization, dedicated to bringing education and village development to rural India. Ekal’s philosophy is to take a holistic approach towards education, to include social, health, hygiene and economic development. The Ekal movement is the largest, grassroots, non-governmental movement in India, operating in remote and tribal villages of India. Over 93% of the national donated collection (targeted to be about 5 million dollars from the US in 2012), goes directly to India, to support the tribal children. Last year in Cincinnati, the annual musical concert raised over 50K in one evening and was attended by over 700 people. Another full house is expected for this year’s concert, which is scheduled for Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 7.30 pm, at the Mason Middle School Auditorium, 6370 Mason-Montgomery Road, Mason, Ohio 45040.
